The sun was out and there has been snow in the last week so not surprisingly it was a busy day on the pistes.
It may have been busy but not without reason - blue skies, superb views over Mont Blanc and the Chamonix Aiguille and great snow conditions. The pistes at this time of year get a lot of traffic, so it’s not surprising that they often are not looking their best as the end of February aproaches, but the amount of snow we have had this year ensures that there is still a good covering and the pistes are in great shape.
So starting at the top of the resort:

Mont Joly is open and if you are feeling brave you can have a go at the frighteningly steep black Grand Chamois which comes down the front face. It’s getting icy and there’s lots of bumps so make sure you are fit and up to the task before having a go. As the signs say - this gets icy and a fall may meen you don’t stop! For off piste enthusiasts all the powder under the Mont Joly chairlift is all skied out, right round the bowl, but don’t let this put you off having a go - It’s lovely soft snow with lots of bumps and is great fun - snow is better here than on the pistes - again it’s steep so make sure you’re up to it.
Further down the Marmottes red is in great condition taking you from the shoulder (l’Epaule) through the trees direct to the Plateau de la Croix - don’t forget to drop in to Le Schuss at the end of the day for a Vin Chaud!
