I skinned up from Le Bettex to Mt d'Arbois yesterday (Monday 11th) and was surprised how good the snow was given the small amount we have had so far. Clearly the pisteeurs have been having some fun, dropping powder lines from the top of Mt Joux back down to the Mt Joux chair. As I skinned up I was past by a piste bully and it's quite clear the resort will open on Saturday as all the main runs were getting a nice grooming. And to top it all off, I had freshly groomed piste all to myself on the descent! Not a bad way to start your skiing season by any means! Roll on Saturday. Hi Si.
